Photography One class with Mr. Friend in high school got me started with photography, and I loved the way it gave me the ability to be creative despite my entire lack of artistic ability. I stole my dad's darkroom equipment when I was 16, and he helped me set up a darkroom in the basement, that I proceeded to use for exactly 2 printing sessions with no good results. Teenage abandonment, and general lack of follow through, had me walk away from photography after high school.
When I graduated college, being inspired by the awesome shit my dad was producing with his new DSLR, I treated myself with some of my graduation money to a Nikon D60, and have taken 15,000 photos since. It turns out, some of them actually aren't that bad.
I take photos because it gives me something to do with my fidgety hands, and it gives me a lot of satisfaction to see what little part of our incredible world I can capture in my frame (when I have the right lighting of course.)
I really thrive off of the validation I have been getting from friends and family about my talent, so please continue to comment and let me know the ones that you like, the ones that make you think, and especially the ones that just DON'T jump out at you as something that is worth seeing again.
This will be my only venue of posting new photos for a while, so if you like our stuff, keep checking in, and I am sure you will see something new.
